IATSE · Theatrical Teamsters · Tri-State Area and Beyond
In live entertainment, there is no substitute for experience, precision, and trust. Productions don't run on ideas alone — they run on skilled union stagehands, disciplined crews, and professionals who understand that safety, timing, and execution are non-negotiable.

"This isn't management from a desk. It's leadership forged on job sites."
Sean Saphire, founder of Creative Labor Management Services, is a New York–based production leader with more than twenty years of experience across theatrical productions, concerts, television, fashion, music festivals, and large-scale corporate productions.
A member of IATSE Local #4 since 2009 and Local #1 since 2021, Sean has served as Crew Chief, Production Carpenter, Production Rigger, and Staging Supervisor on hundreds of union productions throughout New York City and nationwide.
His leadership at Kings Theatre — as Crew Chief and Head Rigger — included building a production advancing and payroll infrastructure that resolved long-standing inefficiencies and is still in use today. That same systems thinking shapes how CLMS operates.
Sean holds active cards in both IATSE Local #4 (Brooklyn/Queens, since 2009) and Local #1 (NYC Theatrical — Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester & Long Island — since 2021). CLMS operates as a union-friendly signatory partner.
Hands-on experience across theatrical fly systems, stadium motor grids, scenic construction, spotlight, A/V, and full production supervision at premier NYC venues.
Deep background in advancing, budgeting, payroll, remittance reporting, staffing strategy, and departmental coordination. Built payroll systems still in active use.
Served on IATSE Local #4 executive board (2014–17), as education committee instructor (2019–23), and on multiple contract committees in both his locals since 2014.
Over two decades of working across premier venues has allowed Sean to build one of the most trusted stagehand networks in the New York City region — spanning major vendors for rigging, staging, lighting, and A/V equipment, production managers for national events, theatrical production technicians, and talent and executives across legacy television productions.
Job by job, city by city — that Rolodex is not just impressive in its quantity, but in its quality. Trust is built on that baseline. That network is the backbone of Creative Labor Management Services.
"Sean builds crews on merit.
Merit builds strength.
Strength builds diversity.
And diversity builds better productions."
When timelines compress, budgets tighten, and creativity needs structure — you need more than labor. You need the right crew.
